fried vegan chicken strips
Ingredients
Vegan Chicken
8 stripsPanko Bread Crumbs
1 cupsCroutons or Stuffing
2 cupsOnion Powder
1 teaspoonSalt
0.5 teaspoonBlack Pepper
1 teaspoonGarlic Powder
1 teaspoonFlour
1 cupWater
1 cupCayanne
1 teaspoonCanola Oil
2 cups
Instructions:
Add water, flour, salt, pepper, cayanne, garlic powder, and onion powder to a small bowl, then mix until it acheives a batter-like consistency.
Crush croutons into a consitency similar to granulated sugar.
Add crushed croutons and panko bread crumbs to a large bowl.
Heat oil in a large sauce pan over medium-low heat.
Dip vegan chicken strips in batter, then bread crumbs and place on a sheet or plate.
Once all strips are coated in batter and bread crumbs, start carefully adding strips to hot oil.
Periodically check strips and flip once the under side is golden brown.
Cook other side and remove from oil.
Place fried strips on a paper towel to drain excess oil.
Serve hot and enjoy!
